1. Will I be able to choose or
amend the amount that I can pay into My Giving Account?
You can increase or decrease the value
of your donations at any point during the year, please contact your
payroll department. If you want to change your choice of charities,
login to your My Giving Account at any time to amend these
details. Please note, it can take up to 12 weeks for your
first donation to show in your account.
2. How quickly will the charity
receive my donation?
Donations are distributed by Charities
Trust in line with the Payroll Giving regulations. For the majority
of donations this means that the donation is passed to the charity
within 35 days of receipt from the employer; in some circumstances
it may take up to 60 days. Charities Trust makes two regular
donations each month, ensuring that the charities your employees
support receive donations quickly and cost-effectively.
3. Where do I find my payroll
Your payroll ID number is typically
found on your payslip and is the number you will have used when
signing up to Payroll Giving. If you are unsure of the number
that was used when setting up the account please contact your
payroll department for more information.
4. When I have logged in and
searched for my charity I can't find them on the database.
Can I ask for my charity to be added to the Charities Trust
Charities Trust has a database of
thousands of UK registered charities but if your preferred charity
is not listed, you can complete a 'Charity Request Form' within the
'Donate to Charity' section of your My Giving Account and they will
be added to the Charities Trust database once they have been
validated. You will need to know the full charity name, address,
registration number (Charity Commission, OSCR, HMRC etc.) and you
will need to add your contact details to the form.
5. Is there a minimum or maximum
number of charities that I can support?
There is no minimum or maximum number
of charities you can support. The My Giving Account allows you to
make regular monthly donations or alternatively you can accrue some
funds which will then allow you to donate larger amounts of money
when your charity needs your help the most.
6. Can I change my charity once
I receive My Giving Account login details?
You can change the choice of charity at

misplaced my password or log in details?
If you misplace your password, visit
www.mygivingaccount.co.uk and click on the link 'Forgotten
Password', enter your username and email address and a link will be
sent to you to create a new password.
If you have misplaced your username please email Charities Trust
with your account number and we will verify your account and
provide further details.
8. What will happen to My Giving
Account if I leave the company?
Payments from your salary will stop at
the end of the month that you leave. Your My Giving Account with
Charities Trust will remain active, until you decide to close
9. Can a charity claim Gift Aid
on a My Giving Account donation?
No - if your donation is taken direct
from your salary through Payroll Giving it has already received its
full tax benefit. This means that no further tax allowance can be
claimed on the donation.
10. When will I receive a
Charity Cheque Book?
As the majority of donations are
carried out online we do not automatically send out Charity Cheque
Books, however once you have activated and logged into your account
you can request this through the My Giving Account administration
11. What happens if I write a
My Giving Account charity cheque for more than the funds available
in my account?
Charities Trust can only make payments
to charities if there are sufficient funds in your account. If a
cheque is issued and there is no money in your account, the cheque
will be held until there are sufficient funds available to make the
payment; if we are unable to process the charity cheque, it will
expire after six months from the date of issue.
We cannot guarantee that pending
charity cheques will be redeemed in the order they were

If you log on and there is no money in
your account, this could be due to the processing that needs to
take place between your payroll department and Charities Trust. As
our system work in arrears, your account will be credited the
following month after it has been deducted from your pay, so please

for donations by CAF vouchers - is this the same as Charities Trust
My Giving Account charity cheques?
There are a number of Payroll Giving
Agencies. CAF (Charities Aid Foundation) is one of them. They offer
a Charity Account facility which is similar to the My Giving
Account. Charity cheques (or vouchers) from any Payroll
Giving Agency can be used to make donations to any UK registered
charity or recognised good cause.
14. Can I put completed
charity cheques into a charity collection tin and/or

16. Can I use My Giving
Account to donate to other fundraising platforms such as Just
Giving or Virgin Money Giving?
Unfortunately you cannot use your My
Giving Account to donate to Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving as
our systems are not compatible. You may wish to donate to the
charity directly using your My Giving Account instead. This can
then be displayed on the relevant page as an offline donation. You
may be interested to know that you can use your My Giving Account
